Tagaytay Wedding Venues

Our original plan was to have a beach wedding somewhere in Batangas. But because of time and budget constraints, we decided that it would be more practical if we would just have a garden wedding in Tagaytay.

We rented a car last November. Kuya Elmer drove us to Tagaytay from Makati safely. He’s an Uber driver find. And I would like to commend him for our smooth ride experience. He arrived at the meeting place earlier than expected. He’s mabait kausap and very humble. If you’ll ever need someone to drive you elsewhere, I highly recommend Kuya Elmer. You may contact him at 0998 953 4281.

We left Makati at 7am. Ang saya lang kasi hindi kami natraffic sa daan. Parang everything seemed right that day. We even had our breakfast before heading to Tagaytay and yet we arrived at 9:00am. I suggest you pay a visit on a weekday to avoid traffic and crowd. Here’s a list of Tagaytay wedding venues we visited.

1. Balai Taal

Venue1

Our first stop was Balai Taal. Eto yung sinasabing love at first sight talaga. May mini heart attack pagpasok na pagpasok pa lang sa main gate.  I was awed by the view. Kitang kita lang talaga yung ganda ng taal. Imagine a 3-storey house fronting a garden and a scenic view.

The place is perfect for small, intimate weddings. It can easily house 100 or up to 200 guests if you choose to use the whole garden. Cost of the venue ranges from Php 102,00.00 to P238,000.00 depending on the package you choose. That includes the house which could accommodate more than 20 people. See package details here.

PROS

  • The place is beautiful even without setup. It has the perfect Taal view
  • Location is near main road and is very easy to find
  • Package rate is really sulit since we could maximize the place for preps, ceremony, reception and accommodation.
  • Whole day exclusive use
  • Overnight accommodation for 20pax
  • No corkage fees, we can get any suppliers we want
  • Time of check-in and check out is flexible

CONS

  • The garden is quite small and is not recommended for big weddings with more than 200 guests

2. Clearwater Resthouse

Venue2

Kung ang Balai Taal ang love at first sight ko, eto namang clearwater resthouse ang the one that got away ko. Jusko, hirap nya hanapin sa waze. We were left confused and lost. Ganyan na ganyan ang feeling pagkaka-break lang. Chot. Hahahaha.

Walang sign board. Although the place is just along the main road. We gave it some time and we finally reached the place.  Halos katabi lang pala sya ng The Inn Cliffhouse. Only to find out that they are under the same management. There is a private lot separating the two though. You have to exit the commercial complex and then walk a couple of steps out in the highway to get into the garden.

The place has a nice Taal view as well. Iba talaga ang hatak ng lugar pag may view. Venue rental costs P85,000.00. The garden is large enough for 250 guests. Check the price here.

PROS

  • The place is overlooking taal
  • Open to outside caterers with refundable bond fees of 10,000
  • No corkage fees, , we can get any suppliers we want
  • Whole day exclusive use
  • Overnight accommodation for the newly wed couple

CONS

  • Location is not easy to find
  • Parking area is located in Cliffhouse which means your guests would have had to walk along the highway to get in the garden. Musta naman ang gowns and suits nila. If rumampa sa kalsada is not an issue, then I guess Clearwater is a great pick!

3. Mahogany’s Place

Venue3

I believe Mahogany’s Place is just newly constructed. There’s an ongoing renovation when we arrived. Unlike Balai and Clearwater, the place has no taal view. Just the mala-hacienda feel from the gate up to the hall. Bagay to sa mga romantic, whimsical or vintage wedding theme. It has 3 unique venues: Gazebo, Tuscan Garden and the Atrium Hall. You can rent out one or a combination of the three. Packages range from P55,000.00 to P170,000.00. More details here.

PROS

  • You get the hacienda feel with this venue. Big white house overlooking the garden.
  • Exclusive – 1 event per day
  • Day and night use of bridal rooms and there are other rooms too.
  • Perfect for big wedding with more than 300 guests

CONS

  • The venue is not along the main road. Looban sya at medyo makipot ang road
  • No accommodation included
  • Corkage fees apply if you get outside suppliers for catering and lights and sounds
  • No Taal view

4. Hillcreek Gardens

Venue4

Of all the venues I shortlisted, I think it is the most sikat wedding place. My mom and tita also recommended the place so I have high expectations for Hillcreek. Lo and behold, the garden has a beautiful landscape. They have The Pavilion, The Garden and Anahaw House. You have an option to choose among the three with free use of The Gazebo Garden or Courtyard for ceremony or cocktail reception. Package rates start at P70,000 to 283,000. Place could accommodate a maximum capacity of 500 pax. View their To Have and To Hold and To Love and To Cherish Package.

PROS

  • Beautiful landscape
  • They have in-house caterer, package includes food
  • Overnight accommodation for the newly wed couple

CONS

  • The venue is not along the main road
  • They don’t do one event per day
  • Corkage fees apply if you get outside suppliers for catering and lights and sounds
  • Strictly no cooking and bringing of foods. Crew meals will be provided by them at 180 per pax
  • No Taal view

5. Narra Hill

Venue5

It was almost lunch time when we arrived at Narra Hill. The road going there was too steep. Buwis buhay mga ateng. But the place is worth the YOLO moves. Narra hill has the taal view but it’s not as stunning as Balai and Clearwater. Though the place is really serene and beautiful.  Hiningal ako sa pagtour samen ng staff. Medyo mataas ang lugar. Nangatog tuhod ko. Hahahahaha. I think it’s an ideal venue for a staycation rather than a wedding. I also find their rates pricey. See their packages here.

PROS

  • Overlooking taal
  • Beautiful landscape
  • Overnight accommodation for 14 pax included
  • No corkage fees

CONS

  • Very steep road on the way and even on the place itself
  • Additional fee if you use capiz lights, fans and their curtains
  • Pricey

6. Splendido

Venue6

At first glance, I get intimidated with the place. Splendido is a country golf club by the way, so mukhang susyalen talaga yung place. I love the Tuscan / Mediterranean design of the venue. It has a homey feel fit for an intimate wedding idea. Pangalang pa lang, splendid indeed. Hahahaha.

Surprisingly, the place offers affordable packages. Their venue rate for Golf Club is Php 40,000.00 (exclusive of food per pax). They have an upgraded packages which includes the venue from Php 100k to Php 140k. These packages include cakes, floral designs and so on, depending on which package you choose. You can opt for Venue and food only. See their rates here.

PROS

  • Offers affordable packages
  • Large golf club

CONS

  • In-house caterer only, they do not accept any other caterers
  • Location is a bit far from rotonda
  • No Taal view

7. Moon Garden

Venue7

Our last stop was Moon Garden. The place is very secluded similar to that of Sonya’s, only smaller. It has a Bohemian-inspired interior. This is perfect for those having 50 wedding guests. More than that I think the place would looked cramped. Venue rental is 40k only. Although Moon Garden is not a potential venue for us, we still consider staying a night there some other time. It’s a perfect place for self-reflection and retreat.

PROS

  • Bohemian-inspired interior, no need to elaborate set ups
  • Affordable venue rental fee
  • Very relaxing place

CONS

  • Small space, reception only
  • Since the place has a pond full of lilies, expect frogs and insects
  • There’s an ongoing building construction beside the place which makes it a bit off for relaxation
